According to an article on the Website Challies.com dated October 16, 2013, Steve Lawson is quoted as saying during the Strange Fire Conference...
"Calvin towers over church history as the most substantial theologian who has been given to the church. We would do well to hear from him.
"I will let him have the final word. “Let the pastors boldly dare all things by the word of God… Let them constrain all the power, glory, and excellence of the world to give place to and to obey the divine majesty of this word. Let them enjoin everyone by it, from the highest to the lowest. Let them edify the body of Christ. Let them devastate Satan’s reign. Let them pasture the sheep, kill the wolves, instruct and exhort the rebellious. Let them bind and loose thunder and lightning, if necessary, but let them do all according to the word of God” (Sermons on the Epistle to the Ephesians).
"If we are to see a new reformation in this day, continue to expand its borders and have greater influence in the church and the world, we must be committed exclusively to the written word of God." Steve Lawson
From these words by Steve Lawson himself we understand that his theology is rooted and entrenched in Reformed Theology.
That being said, this article is only designed to look at Reformed Theology through the lens of scripture--not an attack on an individual.
I will close by saying this, Steve Lawson has openly admitted and asked forgiveness. The Christian community should certainly show grace at times like this. He needs our prayers going forward. God is a merciful God in all matters and will forgive all who come to him with a penitent heart.
I'm thankful the Word of God tells us,
"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise." (Psalm 51:17)
"Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions." (Psalm 51:1)
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)
These verses certainly refute the core teachings of Calvinism. This scripture represents a loving and merciful God, not the tyrant of Calvinism or Reformed Theology.
Hopefully, this closer look at the theology of Calvinism, and all of its offshoots, will cause those that are in churches that teach this false doctrine to examine themselves. We are told by the Apostle Paul to do that very thing.
"Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?" (2 Corinthians 13:5)

Christ is the answer.
My dear friend, if you have never received Christ as your Saviour, would you do so today? Pray this from your heart. Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe you died on the cross for my sins. I believe you were buried and rose again the third day. I ask you now to forgive me of my sins and come into my heart and save me. Amen
