"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." (Ephesians 6:12)
"If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?" (Psalm 11:3)
1. The Biblical Mandate for Male Spiritual Leadership
The Bible gives a clear, God-ordained responsibility to men—especially husbands and fathers—to lead their families spiritually:
-
Ephesians 5:23 – “For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.”
-
Ephesians 6:4 – “And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”
-
1 Timothy 3:4-5 – “One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)”
According to Scripture, spiritual neglect by fathers doesn’t just affect families—it reverberates through generations, thereby weakening a nation from within its foundations. We see the Bible giving insight into this truth in this verse.
"If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?" (Psalm 11:3)
Karl Marx was fundamentally against traditional structures—religion, family, capitalism—because he saw them as tools of oppression. He and Engels famously called for the abolition of the family in The Communist Manifesto. Fast forward to modern movements:
Cultural Marxism
(or neo-Marxism), influenced by thinkers like Antonio Gramsci and the Frankfurt School, shifted the revolution from economic to cultural realms—targeting institutions like the nuclear family, the church, and gender roles.
The goal: disrupt the “status quo” by deconstructing traditional values.
Movements that promote gender fluidity, patriarchy as oppression, or sensationalize manhood in general as inherently toxic fit into that ideological lineage—even if modern activists aren’t consciously quoting Marx.
4. Cancel Culture & Toxic Masculinity as Tools
Cancel Culture punishes traditional expressions of masculinity, especially those rooted in moral clarity, conviction, and authority. It shames men for speaking up, leading boldly, or embracing biblical manhood.
The result? Men withdraw. They doubt their instincts. They stay silent. Spiritually, this is devastating.
If spiritual leadership is portrayed as oppressive or abusive, many men abdicate their role altogether. And if fathers step back, the enemy knows the family often collapses from within.
5. A Subversive Attack?
Yes—this is more than cultural. It is spiritual warfare, and the Bible confirms that there are unseen forces at work:
Ephesians 6:12 – “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Undermine the father → weaken the family → collapse the nation. The enemy knows this. That’s why we see an intentional dismantling of biblical masculinity. But Scripture also reminds us that God equips men to stand:
1 Corinthians 16:13– “Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.”
This is not the time for retreat—it is the time for righteous resistance.
Final Thoughts: A Call to Biblical Manhood
If the devil can silence or sideline men, he can spiritually starve homes and societies. But God is calling men today to rise:
-
To lead boldly, love deeply, and serve sacrificially.
-
To shepherd their homes with prayer, the Word, and courage.
-
To reclaim their roles, not with pride, but with holy purpose.
Joshua 24:15 (KJV) – “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve... but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
In our next installment we will begin to look at the organization behind the growing epidemic of Critical Theory replacing Sound Doctrine in churches around the world.
Stay tuned.
My dear friend, if you have never received Christ as your Saviour, would you do so today? Pray this from your heart. Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe you died on the cross for my sins. I believe you were buried and rose again the third day. I ask you now to forgive me of my sins and come into my heart and save me. Amen
